![]() I have one in to SS right now for its 2nd service fix (the other one that was fixed at the same time is still holdig up, knock on wood!). I bought 3 SS Van Gogh amps for my minivan in 2006(?). bought it november of last yearĬan't help you on your issue, but thought I'd chime in to add a data point. The amp is a soundstream tarantula TRA680.4 4 channel amplifier. not circuitry or even still micro circuitry. I think this is mainly like industrial supplies for electricians work etc. but I'm finding only like electrical components etc. ![]() I looked in the phone book (obvously all are closed today). Particularly interested in what kind of places I should look into for getting these locally (radio shack does not have this transistor). just seems to all sort of start happening recently. Guys, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I hate to keep buying/fixing amps I know the speakers are hooked up right, I mean the system sounds incredible and the amp has never even went into protect at all. I'll apply new heat sink compound and seal her back up. I'm going to replace all of them with the same part number (FQP65n06) a total of 6. I'm still curious as to why it did this, what causes this I can't seem to find a straight answer on the internet anywhere, only I'm seeing it's quite common. ![]() Didn't seem to harm anything but them, a test of the diodes near by came back good, now I'm going to try and find these things locally (any suggestions?). WHY did it do it? Sure enough I opened it up, it has 6 FQP mosfet 65N06 transistors and at least half of them are visibly damaged. Not something I'm unfamiliar with, I immediatly thought transistors since my JL audio amp did the same thing. I opened the trunk to find the amp SMOKING! anyway today I turned it on and the sound was real distorted. sometimes after driving a bit it would cure itself. gradually getting worse, particullary when the car was first started and the amp turned on. Maybe swapping out the crunchy options for a couple more acoustic models would have made it even more useful, but this remains an appealing six-string multi-tool and a genuine problem-solver for many gigging players.I noticed there to start to be some interference in the audio output about a week ago. “The launch of the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster feels like a no-brainer move for Fender, spreading the potential appeal of what is virtually a whole new category of guitar. The feel of the bevelled arm rest and fingerboard edges says quality and comfort this is an inviting guitar and that Modern Deep-C neck will feel familiar to anyone who has played the electric Player series models.” A lovely dark rosewood fingerboard and bridge replaces the US version’s ebony, but that’s not anissue for us. “In terms of feel and build, we honestly can’t find a compromise between this Ensenada-made Player and the US Acoustasonics we’ve tried. MusicRadar: The onboard voice options might have been scaled down but the Acoustasonic Telecaster sticks the landing as a Player Series model, in what could be one of the guitars to make the hybrid build truly go mainstream.įender Player Series Acoustasonic Telecaster: The web says ![]() That, in sum, is the sort of thing the Acoustasonic format encourages. That said, it can be pressed into service of many different kinds of styles, perhaps some that are all your own. It is warmer, with a little more width than you’d expect from a Tele’s bridge pickup. Fender promises twang but this isn’t Pete Anderson levels of twang. Park yourself on position one for a more traditional electric guitar experience, but don’t necessarily expect a traditional Telecaster experience. In a sense, this is a sound that almost exists outside of the spectrum of acoustic/electric tones, and is sure to support pedalboard experimentation. The sound is just coming from the piezo and as you turn the blend control it adds drive. Here is where the true hybrid tones are, and as such, there are fewer references for what we are hearing.
